In case you haven’t heard, the Altoona Curve will welcome Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons to their 6:30 pm game on April 15th against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants). Timmons, who led the Steelers with 135 tackles this season, will be on hand for a two-hour autograph signing session, a pre-game show interview on the video board and also he will throw out a first pitch.
We have all seen how impressive Timmons can be on the gridiron, but how will he fare on the mound?
It is customary for famous athletes and celebrities to throw out the first pitch at baseball games through the country. Here’s a look at a few that shouldn’t have made the 60-foot 6-inch trek to the center of the diamond.
When Timmons takes to the mound, will his performance mirror the Governor’s or Charlie Brown? Something tells me he will be prepared. Either way, it will be a must-see moment, an opportunity to get an autograph from one of the best players on the Pittsburgh Steelers and a great way to help usher in the new season. Good luck on April 15th Lawrence!
